Encourage one another.

I’m sorry I have not been blogging for a week. I was canoeing with two friends in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area wilderness in northern Minnesota. It was beautiful, of course! My favorite place in the world.

The sermon at church this morning was good. The preacher quoted Hebrews 3:13, “Day by day, while that word ‘Today’ still sounds in your ears, encourage one another, so that no one of you is made stubborn by the wiles of sin.” He emphasized we should encourage, honor, and forgive one another. Too often, we think of our loved ones, “They know I love them, so I do not need to say that. What they need is for me to point out areas they could improve.” Yep, sounds familiar. I could sure do a lot better in this area. Let’s try to encourage, honor, and forgive one another—in our families, work colleagues, phone support people, and everyone we encounter.

“Encourage,” in particular, is something I will try to focus on. When someone around us is struggling, and everyone has their struggles, encourage them.
