Alone in this race, I favor your right to control your body.

Politico reported this past week that a leaked draft opinion from the Supreme Court suggests the Supreme Court will overturn Roe v. Wade entirely and throw the question of abortion rights to the states.

The Republican candidates for governor of Minnesota have all vowed to try to outlaw abortion. Tim Walz has announced he opposes new restrictions on abortion. I would go further than Walz, I would push to codify Roe v. Wade and a right to an abortion for at least the first trimester in state law. I will introduce a bill to do that to the citizen jury I have proposed, and I expect they would pass that bill. I would then demand that the legislature vote on it.

Unlike my opponents on both the left and right, I am consistent in supporting the right of Minnesotans to control their bodies. I oppose vaccine mandates and vaccine coercion. I think you have the right control what goes into your body and what is done to your body. And I support a woman’s right to control her body and choose whether to take a pregnancy to term. Tim Walz supports a pregnant woman’s right to control her body but believes that no one else has the right to control their body by refusing a vaccine. The Republicans think everyone should be able to control their body except for pregnant women. I’m consistent. Everyone should have the right to control their body. No exceptions.
